Privacy Policy
How Second Life Content collects, uses and looks after your personal information, in plain English.
Last updated 30 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Second Life Content ("we", "us") collects through secondlifecontent.com and when you work with us, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We aim to handle personal information in line with applicable privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have any questions, email info@secondlifecontent.com.
Information you send us through the contact form
When you use our contact form to make an enquiry or ask for a free sample post, we collect:
- your name and email address
- your business name
- your YouTube or Instagram link
- your website address (optional)
- what you're interested in, and any message you choose to include
The form is processed by our website host, Netlify, which stores the submission and emails it to us. We use this information to reply to you, review your content, prepare your free sample post and discuss working together.
Payments
If you buy blog posts on our website, your payment is handled by Stripe Checkout on Stripe's secure payment pages. Stripe collects your name, email address and payment details, plus the video link(s) you enter at checkout. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe shares your name, email address, order details and video link(s) with us so we can deliver your order. Stripe's handling of your information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Email communications
We email you to respond to enquiries, send your sample post, confirm and deliver orders, and handle related admin. Our email is provided by Google Workspace. We won't add you to a marketing newsletter unless you ask to join, and you can opt out of any non-essential emails at any time by replying to let us know.
Testimonials and samples
We only publish a client testimonial, or show a post we wrote for a client as a sample, with that client's permission. You can ask us to remove it later.
Website analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how people use our website in aggregate: for example, which pages are visited, how visitors find us, the type of device and browser used, and approximate location (such as country or city). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses. We use these reports only to improve our website and content. We don't use Google Analytics for advertising, we don't run ads, and we've turned off Google signals and ad personalisation.
When you first visit, a cookie notice lets you accept or decline analytics cookies, and we remember your choice on your device. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off unless you accept. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can decline at any time. You can change your choice whenever you like using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. You can also block Google Analytics on all websites with Google's opt-out browser add-on. To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Like most websites, our host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, to run and secure the site. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers we use to run our business, and only as needed for them to provide their services:
- Netlify: website hosting and contact form processing (Netlify Privacy Policy)
- Stripe: payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Google Workspace: email (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Analytics: website usage statistics (Google Privacy Policy)
We never sell your personal information. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
International transfers
Our service providers operate internationally and may store or process your information outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, your information is protected by those providers' own privacy and security commitments.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and generally no longer than two years after our last contact unless you become a client. For clients, we keep order and payment records for as long as we're required to for tax, accounting and legal purposes. When we no longer need information, we delete it.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using reputable providers and limiting access to the people who need it. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it's wrong, or delete it. Email info@secondlifecontent.com and we'll respond as soon as we can. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may need to keep some records where the law requires it. Depending on where you live, you may also have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.
Children
Our services are for businesses and aren't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
